Samsung 12GB Smartphone DRAM is the highest-capacity smartphone DRAM chip yet. The 12GB LPDDR4X package will provide the smartphones more memory than the common Laptops. On the other hand, this chip will be perfect for composite multi-camera devices and folding smartphones with high-resolution screens. Samsung said, “With more smartphones adopting more features, Samsung has seen increasing demand for higher-capacity DRAM chips from phone makers.”
Most of the latest smartphones have support up to 8GB RAM. With Samsung 12GB Smartphone DRAM it will enhance the phone to a higher capacity. With folding smartphones now making an appearance, the importance of having sufficient RAM to drive them going ahead is obvious.

With using Samsung’s second-gen 10-nanometer process, the chip seemsto be the one used in the latest Galaxy S10+ ceramic edition. That device features 12GB of LPDDR4X RAM and Samsung only manufacturer’s three LPDDR4X chips: two 8GB chips and the new 12GB package. It’s also expected to part in Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy S10 5G editions.
On the other hand, Samsung 12GB Smartphone DRAM will also be essential for phones that feature five or more cameras like the upcoming Nokia 9 PureView. Other high-RAM demands the company planned include artificial intelligence, 5G capabilities, and larger screen sizes and resolutions.
Additionally, with true multitasking beginning to become a thing on smartphones, the demand for higher-capacity RAM is only going to increase. The electronics giant was able to achieve this accomplishment by squeezing six 16-gigabit LPDDR4X chips based on its second-generation 10nm process into one package. It claims the DRAM delivers a data transfer rate of 34.1GB per second while lowering the power consumption that usually accompanies higher-capacity DRAM.
